It seems to run in cycles. It was Canned Vegetables. Right now Sugar is the trend. We have lots of tea as well. Now that I think about it. Very few "necessities" and lots of junk. Oh well. It's a start I guess… LOL
I'm in the "store what you eat and eat what you store" phase right now so I prefer Chunky canned soups.
Hopefully after the first of the year we'll have worked up to three months of those foods and I can start long-term food storage with Thrive products.
I also "eat what you store, store what you eat." I heard about you guys through The Survival Podcast, I had no idea you were in Carolina now too. I'm glad I found you on facebook.
We store different types of rice that we already cook with, cans of all different types really. I haven't moved to dehydrated foods yet though. It's something I'm considering though.
My favorite to store is oatmeal. Though what we've used it for the most is for peanut butter/chocolate nobake cookies!
I'm Luke in Charlotte, NC. π
If anyone would like to try a sample just let me know!!
@Leigh Ann, a sample of what?
@lukeanthony, Shelf Reliance has a great brand of freeze dried and dehydrated foods. They really taste great and most items have a shelf life of 25 years unopened and 1-2 years once opened. Some of my favorite items are the corn, broccoli, chicken and fruits. You can check them out here carolinashelfreliance.shelfreliance.com/home
Everyone needs to be prepared for any type of disaster with at least a 3 day supply of food. I'm working on 90 day supply now and soon hope to be up to a year.
So glad I came across you today. Believe it or not my favorite food storage item… chocolate chips. Yes I figure comfort food is going to taste pretty good if other stuff is not available. Of course that doesn't mean I don't store the more nutritious foods. :0)
Jennifer conaway loves the mango, bananas and onions! Can't wait to try out my chicken and broccoli next week!
